The Village of The Hills is pleased to announce that the Park Revitalization Project will be completed in the next few weeks.
The Park Revitalization project included a variety of exciting improvements to the park including leveling and enhancing the great lawn area, expanding the parking lot, repositioning boulders from throughout the park for retaining walls, refreshing the crushed granite throughout, tidying up the walking trail with metal edging, adding corrective drainage, removing unnecessary landscaping, installing a children's music area, and developing a golf cart-only dog park entrance.
Additional improvements entailed adding security cameras and large fans to the pavilion, replacing the water fountains at the bathroom entrance, securing the bathrooms, refreshing the entry signage, installing gutters on both the bathroom area and pavilion, and adding another layer of ground cover in the playground areas.
Funding for the Park Revitalization Project was funded by the American Rescue Plan Act or the COVID Relief Fund. The total expense of the park revitalization projects was $350,000.
The original COVID relief fund totaled $616,000. The remainder of the balance of these funds has been allocated to the completion of the walking trail. Phase 4 of the walking trail will allow pedestrians to safely traverse along the dam along The Hills Drive between The Hills Golf Course holes 17 and 18. This phase of the walking trail project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
The Village of The Hills thanks each of you for your continued patience and understanding as we work together to make long-term and impactful improvements for your family to enjoy the outdoors.
